I am extremely proud to have been asked to be President of Penrith Show. Having been involved with the Show for the past 45 years, I realise how much work and effort goes into arranging the event.
I wish to thank all the exhibitors for their support, particularly the livestock exhibitors who have put a tremendous effort into providing the quality of livestock on display.
Finally, I would like to welcome everyone to the show and hope you have an enjoyable day.
William Mounsey
President
Despite the poor weather leading up the show (the Saturday before had seen the Cumberland Show being cancelled at the 11th hour) the day of the show saw bright blue skies and a bumper attendance.
Our mascot, Farmer Brougham, was again on hand to entertain the crowds and a full programme of entertainment bedazzled the main ring.
The success of 2009 will be hard to match but the society will be attempting to put in place another full programme of entertainment and widening the appeal of our Farmer Brougham mascot.
As usual there will be something for everyone. There will be :
And of course there will be the Grand Parade, which would rival that of any top county agricultural show. So watch this space!
More news of Penrith Show 2010 will follow!!
