Annie Mawsons Sunbeams Music Trust Charity Partner for Penrith Show

The Annie Mawson’s Sunbeams Trust are thrilled to be a Charity Partner for the 2025 Penrith Agricultural Show. This support given by the Show Committee provides Sunbeams the opportunity to raise further awareness and vital funds. Sunbeams are by Cumbrians, for Cumbrians and continually re-invests in Cumbria striving to make a difference to disabled and disadvantaged children and adults though the creative freedom of music. Each year the Charity needs to raise towards £400,000 to continue to deliver Community Music Therapy to over 2000 beneficiaries at the Sunbeams Music Centre, over 50 Care Homes and Day Centres and by Zoom
This local Cumbrian Charity now in its 33rd year was founded by West Cumbrian farmers daughter, Annie Mawson MBE MRSM. It has been Annie’s mission to help people thrive, give them hope and make a difference to the lives of the children and adults, many with complex needs. Sunbeams aim to tackle the serious challenges raised by social exclusion, deprivation, ill health and inequality, through the transformative power of community music therapy. It’s about fun, acceptance and inclusion.
Annie said ‘The awareness and funds raised will make such a difference and help our specialist musicians provide our 2 Music Therapy Programmes; Music for Life® and Music for Dignity® which promote inclusivity and equality regardless of age, health conditions, disability. Sunbeams is ‘Reaching the Unreachables’. To receive this support from the Penrith Agricultural Show is truly appreciated. The Farming community are extremely generous and we would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you for their ongoing support.
